Our story
Well, hello there!
We’re Agnes and Warren. We have been travelling together since we met in the late 90s. We’re now married and have two daughters, but strive to do as much exploring as possible, sparking in our girls a love of travel and adventure.
Before children, we had fewer responsibilities, which meant we were able to leave jobs behind to go where we wanted, when we wanted. A family, a home, and permanent jobs make it more difficult, but we are committed to a lifestyle that allows us to visit as much of this planet as we can.
To make it work we have taken extended leaves from our jobs, but luckily, our jobs are flexible enough to allow that. Unlike some other travel bloggers, this is not our primary income stream. It’s something that developed organically from years of travel and documenting our adventures on a blog.
As we got more travel experience under our belts, friends would ask for travel advice and it seemed like a natural evolution to put some of that advice into a format that others could use. We hope you find something here that helps answer some questions and inspires you to plan your next adventure.
Bon Voyage!
Our Philosophy
When it comes to travel – as much as possible, we try to slow it down and stretch it out.
We have a policy that we try to stick to whenever we are on the road, and that’s one thing a day. Maybe we are going to a museum or perhaps we are looking for croissants, but whatever it is, it’s pretty much all we’re doing that day.
In our experience, you meet interesting people at the bakery or stumble across a bookstore you would have otherwise not had time for, so we prefer to slow down rather than cross items of a ‘to-do’ list. We know not everyone has the luxury of time, but we hope our ideas help you slow down a little, and take in more than you might have otherwise.
You’ll see this philosophy reflected in our stories, recommendations and itineraries, and we hope it’s a concept that serves you as well as it’s served us.
