Lil Gadgets kids safe headphones in green

Lil Gadgets Kids Headphones Review

These child-safe, volume-limited kids headphones are durable, foldable and have a secondary aux jack so that additional headphones can be daisy-chained without the need for an aux splitter…or fights about who’s turn it is.

Review

Considering that these are kids headphones, we were really happy with them. They limit the volume, protecting kids’ ears, but the sound quality was good enough that no one ever complained about not being able to hear, even on noisy trains, or in loud airports. Like other kids headphones on the market, these feature a hinged top section, which allow them to be folded for easy storage. They are also adjustable, and fit both of our kids comfortably. The soft foam ear pads didn’t irritate their ears and they didn’t heat up and get sweaty.

Pros: Durable, adjustable, good sound quality and a volume limiter. Available in a variety of colours, making it easy to tell whose is whose. The aux cable was braided and stood up to prolonged use. The second aux jack is a great way to have kids share a single tablet or phone, while both being able to daisy-chain the audio. The plug-in aux cable is also something that comes in handy on planes. Planes don’t have Bluetooth, but they do often have those seat-mounted entertainment systems, and if you want audio, you’re going to need to plug in.

Cons: We got a solid 2 years out of these before the hinges eventually gave way, but that was after being carried and stuffed though Asia and Europe. Not so much a con as a reality.

Overall

RECOMMENDED: We were very happy with these kids headphones. We also liked that even though our second pair didn’t ship with a carrying bag, the company shipped us one for free when we enquired about it.
