Boogie Board drawing pads are one of our favourite travel accessories for kids while traveling. These analog drawing pads provide a creative outlet for your kids while on the move.

Review

While moving from place to place, with hours to kill, we would often need something to help pass the time that didn’t involve the kids watching non-stop Netflix. Similar to a modern etch-a-sketch, the Boogie Board drawing pad is a thin, light, drawing toy and our kids did everything from play hangman to draw cockpit controls for the bus we were on, so they could ‘drive’.

These are not tough enough to stand up to any real abuse, but they’re small enough to tuck into a pocket of your bag or electronics organizer, keeping them intact. You can also purchase a protective cover to help protect them. That said, they are cheap, analog travel accessories for kids that helps develop creativity rather than having kids turn their brains off and passively consume content.

Pros: Small, lightweight, easy to tuck in a bag. A great option of you’re looking for non-digital, toys for travel. Encourages creativity.

Cons: The Boogie Board drawing pad uses a small CR2032 battery to send a small charge to the screen to erase it. There’s so no way to tell when the battery is low. They last for a long time, but you should replace the batteries before going on a longer trip so you don’t end up having to search out batteries mid-trip.

Overall

RECOMMENDED: This is a definite winner. A cheap, versatile toy that can be used in a variety of creative ways. There are no parts to break, and can stand up to a sandy beach or a spilled smoothie.
